Living History - There were calls for Prayer & Fasting on both sides,

and Revival broke out in various places, in both the North and the South!

It wasn't so at the beginning of the American Civil War, but as the war continued, prayer greatly increased,

and a hunger for God and His intervention in the land grew rapidly on both sides.

"If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways,

then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."    2 Chronicles 7:14

Thoughts for Application in Your Area

- Has God moved in your community in the past, where repentance and revival were present?

- Is there history of the Lord using His people to bring times of reconciliation in your local area?

- Historically, there were particular situations where soldiers representing both the North and South, actually

worshipped side by side in a place, during the Civil War.  Did something like this ever happen in your area?

Division & Conflict are very prevalent in society right now.  How can the church speak with clarity and vision?

Really dig.  Do your research.  You may be very surprised by opportunities to see God's loving hand at work in your communities past.
